The winter goal is to do a different snowy hike each week. With that being said, winter hiking can be a bit overwhelming at first. The temperatures are rather unpleasant, especially at altitude, avalanche is a risk depending where you are, as well as lack of traction or deep snow which tends to unsettle your nerves and confidence. I don't have a ton of experience wintering in mountains, but I’ve done a few hikes and overnighters over the past few years. Upon coming home I have made it a priority to learn to navigate the challenges that frosty weather brings to high altitude adventures.
